ABBY is a 4-piece band from Berlin that bridges the divide between Rock bands and Electronic Dance music. Their energetic live shows are a high-octane mix of Rock concert and Techno rave. The name ABBY features a concept whereby the songs form a „Narrative story mosaic“ that fills in as more songs are heard.
The group found resonance and a loyal following from the very beginning. Their debut EP „Welcome Home“ netted them national airplay, leading to the band recording their debut album at London’s noted Kensaltown Studios (mastered at Abbey Road Studios). The debut album „Friends&Enemies“ was released June 7th 2013, with the first single „Streets“. All songs have been written by Filou, the frontman of the Band. Their song „We Don’t Worry“ has being featured in new 20th Century Fox film „Schlussmacher“ from German star Mathias Schweighofer.
Besides all the recording activity, and signing a major publishing deal with BMG/Chrysalis, ABBY have been busy on the live circuit, selling out shows at the Relentless Garage and Barfly in London, with promoter Mean Fiddler, and venturing to the US with SXSW, as well as New York (Arlene's Grocery), LA (Bootleg Theatre) and 300 capacity Borderline in Soho / London on February 27th, 2013. After a summer of Festivals and support shows opening for Everything Everything, And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead, The Virgins, Bodi Bill and Get Well Soon, the live dates keep adding up for ABBY, playing Eurosonic 2013, ABBY have already locked in several other UK and European festivals like Food for your Senses/Luxembourg and Wilderness / UK.
Having brought the interactive, tribal party atmosphere of a dance club to a rock’nroll set, Abby are filling venues and winning fans.
