Balkan Beat Box

BBB was founded In 2003 by Ori Kaplan and Tamir Muskat who, together with Tomer Yosef are the core members of the group. Tamir and Ori played in a number of New York based bands like Firewater, Gogol Bordello, Big Lazy, Shot’nez. They perform as DJs as well. Tomer is a performer, actor, comic, DJ and a solo artist (released two albums).

They released several albums together: “Balkan Beat Box” (2005), “Nu-Med” (2007), “Nu-Med Remixes and Lives” (2008), :Blue Eyed Black Boy”, recorded in 2010 in Tel Aviv and Belgrade in the middle of anti-kosovian demonstrations. The album was produced by the band and included Belgrade based Gypsy ochestra – Jovic Ajdarevic Okrestar.

The latest album of BBB is “Give”, released in 2012. This has been the most politically and socially involved record so far, mixing rawness and energy of the clubbing stages of Africa, Asia and South America and elements of hip-hop, ragga and rock.

BBB performed several times in Poland: June 2008 in Wroclaw, July 2009 in Krakow, 2010 in Lublin, 2012 in Poznan. Then they were playing three club shows in Krakow and Warsaw in autumn 2012 and two open-air shows in Szczecin and Opole in 2013.
